To My Brother: (and other graduates)

Today, my younger brother is graduating from high school. And not only does it make me feel super old but it also makes me feel super proud of him. So to him I’d like to say:

Welcome to the world of graduates. From now on you will be asked 3 main questions whenever you go to family dinners, meet someone new or even by strangers on airplanes:

          1) What are you doing with your future/after graduation

          2) Why did you choose to do that?

          3) And what will you get out of doing that?

There now I hope you are a little more prepared for the adventure which is life after high school. Your answers to these questions may change and the wording of them may vary but one solid piece of advice that I can give you is, that if you want to answer those questions by telling them ‘to mind their own damned business’, than do so. Not only does it feel great, but it will also baffle them. And that is always fun to do.

For whatever reason if you get lost along your journey or your plans change remember that I will always be around to provide cliched guidance and words of wisdom.

So, CONGRATULATIONS little brother. I’m proud of you.

               With Love ❤

And to all other graduates, don’t be afraid of changing your game plans. Life is a learning process and anyone who asks you those questions probably still doesn’t know what they would like to do with their life. Or it took them a while to figure it out. Do something your passionate about and always remember that there is someone who cares enough for you to be there for you when you succeed or if you fail.
